Creamy and delicious Chocolate Avocado Pudding made with just a few simple ingredients and packed with healthy fats!

One thing I absolutely LOVE about cooking healthy is finding fun substitutions for all those unhealthy ingredients that are typically called for in indulgent sinful recipes.  It’s certainly no secret that avocado is a favorite sub used in many recipes, especially in baking, so why not chocolate?!

Oh yes, get excited.

The thing I love most about using avocados in recipes is not only do they make everything so uber creamy, you also can’t even taste them!  Avocados are the perfect healthy fat packed with tons of fiber and vitamins so I love any excuse I can get to add them into my diet – especially with chocolate (duh).  They make a great substitute for butter, oil, or even mayonnaise in many recipes, another I’ll even be sharing tomorrow.  Baking with it has seriously changed my life, along with Greek yogurt which you’ll also find in this pudding that also helps make this sweet treat oh so creamy!

I should also probably mention how freakin’ EASY this is to make.  Throw all ingredients into a blender or food processor, mix until smooth and DONE.  Eat right away or save for later when you need to indulge that insane chocolate fix you’ve been craving all day.

Actually my favorite way to eat this is by dipping strawberries in it!  I eat fruit every day as my mid-morning snack so this was a nice change to my weekly meal plan.  Try cutting up bananas, apples or even dipping some pretzels!  You really can’t go wrong, I mean when isn’t it a good time for chocolate??  Enjoy!

One thing I will note is don’t be afraid of the FAT in this recipe!  Seriously.  I will repeat again, avocado is a healthy fat which is really good for your body.  When I was adding up the calorie content in this recipe I realized the majority of the calories and fat came from the avocados, but all the fiber comes from them too!  So don’t be scurred friends – it’s okay to enjoy something sweet now and then and it’s even better when you can sneak those healthy foods in, masking them under chocolate!

Perfect for your kiddos too!

Just made this, I was craving chocolate like crazy but I’m trying to avoid really sugary sweets for the time being. It was awesome! I love the consistency and strong cocoa taste, I added some sliced strawberries on top for an extra something. I will definitely be making this again!

  2. Tashina says:

I added cinnamon just to give a little zing (cinnamon helps to burn the bad fat). I love this recipe it tastes amazing thank you so much! 😀

I JUST made this and it is AMAZING… Do you think it would taste good (or, have you tried) adding flavours into it? Mint is what I’m thinking!!

  4. Lisa says:

I don’t think I could eat just 1/2 cup at a time! Looks delicious! But I am wondering what the 2 T of Greek yogurt does for the recipe and if could just be omitted?

  5. Sheena says:

Wow-this is the best! The greek yogurt’s tangyness completely masks the avocado. Thanks!

  6. Jocelyn says:

Just made this, it’s absolutely fantastic! I immediately had to text my sister a pic to brag. 🙂

I did half the recipe and used regular vanilla yogurt (Stonyfield) instead of Greek, and that worked fine! Other recipes I found called for even more honey and no yogurt, so I think this is the perfect balance.

Definitely will be making it again soon and trying it with cinnamon too!

Love this! My first taste, before chilling, I wasn’t so sure. But after it was chilled it was sooo good! It also seems to really satisfy the taste for sweets and chocolate and fill you up, It is very rich. I love it with a little whipped cream, but I can’t wait to try it with toasted coconut as someone suggested. Completely obsessed with this!

Amazing. So quick, so easy, it blew my mind. Seriously tastes like chocolate mousse, especially topped with just a touch of whipped cream & raspberries! My mother is extremely picky with her sweets/desserts and was SO impressed, she wouldn’t stop raving about it. Well done! xo
